Plot Overview
Nine-year-old Sam (Lewis Loberg) and his best friend Jacob (Joe Eason) are devout quiet boys preparing to make their First Holy Communion and First Confession at their local Catholic church. Constantly reminded by their priest, Father Kelly (Jim Carter), that they must confess all sins to be cleansed, Sam grows intensely anxious because he genuinely feels he has committed no bad deeds to confess.
Determined to have something meaningful to tell the priest during his sacrament, Sam is talked into pulling a harmless prank with Jacob on a local farmer’s equipment. However, the prank goes horribly wrong, leading to an unforeseen and catastrophic accident that results in tragedy.
Terrified of the consequences and consumed by overwhelming guilt, Sam is faced with a crushing dilemma as his First Confession approaches: conceal the terrible truth or confess his dark secret, knowing it will shatter his world forever.
