Plot Overview
An asteroid strikes the North Atlantic Ocean, creating a global firestorm that destroys everything in its path. With only twelve hours remaining before the wall of fire reaches Perth, Australia, society rapidly collapses into chaos, lawlessness, and hedonism.
James (Nathan Phillips), a selfish, troubled young man, leaves his pregnant lover Zoe (Jessica De Gouw) to head across town for the “party to end all parties”—an uninhibited raucous celebration organized by his girlfriend’s family. En route through the lawless streets, James saves Rose (Angourie Rice), a young girl abducted by desperate men trying to trade her for passage to safety.
Rose explains that she was separated from her father, who promised they would spend their final moments together at her aunt’s farm. Reluctantly taking Rose under his care, James embarks on a journey through the apocalyptic landscape to reunite her with her family, forcing him to re-evaluate his life and discover his own humanity in Earth’s final hours.
