Plot Overview
A group of high school friends reunites for a weekend cruise aboard a luxury yacht off the coast of Mexico to celebrate Dan’s (Eric Dane) 30th birthday. Among them is Amy (Susan May Pratt), who suffers from severe aquaphobia due to childhood trauma, along with her husband James and their infant baby, Sarah.
While anchored miles out in deep, open water, the party mood turns sour when everyone impulsively jumps into the ocean for a swim. In their excitement, they make a fatal error: no one remembered to lower the yacht’s boarding ladder.
Trapped in the ocean, the group finds the hull of the vessel too tall and slick to scale. As the hours wear on under the blazing sun, fatigue, panic, and hypothermia set in. What begins as an innocent mistake devolves into a desperate fight for survival as internal conflicts flare, desperate scaling attempts lead to fatal injuries, and Amy must overcome her deep terror of water to save her infant child left alone on deck.
