Plot Overview
A team of scientific researchers funded by a New York pharmaceutical company travels to the remote jungle island of Borneo. Their objective is to retrieve specimens of a rare red flower known as the “Blood Orchid,” which secretes a chemical property capable of extending cell life and serving as a real-world fountain of youth.
Arriving during the monsoon season, the expedition hires a rugged riverboat captain, Bill Johnson (Johnny Messner), to navigate the treacherous rivers. However, after their boat crashes over a waterfall, the group is forced to trek through the dense rainforest on foot.
As they venture deeper into the territory, the scientists discover a horrifying side effect of the local food chain: the native anacondas have consumed the Blood Orchids for generations, allowing them to grow to monstrous sizes, live for decades, and move with hyper-aggressive speed. To make matters worse, the expedition coincides with the snakes’ mating season, trapping the researchers in a deadly fight for survival against a pit of giant predators and the escalating greed of their own team leader, Dr. Jack Byron (Matthew Marsden).
