Plot Overview
Emma (AnnaSophia Robb) is a down-on-her-luck waitress in upstate New York striving to make ends meet while artistic aspirations pass her by. After experiencing a bizarre, blackout incident in the woods late one night, Emma discovers she is unexpectedly pregnant.
As her pregnancy progresses at an alarmingly unnatural speed, Emma suffers terrifying physical transformations, disturbing cravings, and gruesome hallucinations. When she seeks medical help, her mysterious physician, Dr. Rachel Linden (Mira Sorvino), insists everything is normal—yet seems to be hiding a sinister agenda.
Supported only by her loyal friend Tyler (Rory Culkin), Emma uncovers a dark conspiracy surrounding her unborn child, forcing her to question whether her pregnancy is the result of a medical experiment, a cult ritual, or something extraterrestrial.
